The Soldiers’ charityWe stand at the forefront of support for the Army family. As one of the largest funders in the sector, we award grants to individuals and families, and fund leading organisations that support soldiers, former soldiers, and their families. Support for parents of adopted children.
Half a million people across the UK go at least 5 days without seeing anyone and 60% of people in North Yorkshire & Darlington are considered to be at a medium to high risk of loneliness. We're encouraging local people to commit a small amount of time each week to help someone near them in need. It's all about building back a sense of community in an increasingly isolated world.

Information & Advice regarding benefits, housing and much more. Social activities including our popular Veterans group and clubs. Extra support for you and your family on a range of subjects. Assistance in retrieving lost or unclaimed medals and badges. Signposting to other organisations who can help with specific issues. Veteran focused befriending to match you with someone nearby.
One of the growing network of Veterans ‘Breakfast Clubs’, both here and in Europe. We are a group of veterans and serving members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. There are no commitments or subs… just a great place to meet like minded people for support, chat and banter … not forgetting a great breakfast. Held at the Bread Bowl café in Richmond (DL10 4AE) Saturdays 10am.
Arthritis Action is the only UK charity giving hands-on, practical help to improve the quality of life of people affected by arthritis. We offer an integrated self-management approach, which looks at both the physical and mental health impact of living with arthritis. We support people living with musculoskeletal conditions through healthy eating advice, mental health resources, pain management techniques, local Groups, and exercise advice and resources.
